about

Oh, this one is an old track, and outtake really, which failed to make it into an album at the time. It was an outcast kid, so to speak, in every respect. So it hung about the YouTube hopelessly, till My Home Town let it in, a stranger among strangers. It was recorded at Omry Levi's old little apartment in Florentin, Tel Aviv, with all the noisy industrial street sounds in it. Some loves come late, and songs, unlike people, don't age. I mean, at least they don't die. Sorry about the sound. It's what we had at the time.

lyrics

I'm here, checking out the old school
I'm calling you, tell me something new.
Ryan Adams is coming out with a backwards rock and roll
And Ruphus Wainwright is coming with a new one too.
And You, you were buying me Nebraska last night.
Listen to your heart. Every new step you take will break
Your heart in two.
I'm here. I go back to the sixties.
I get a burst of Road Euphoria.
Plenty of shit going around:
Men sleep with their women, every weekend,
Cheating on their wives.
Boyz sleep with their best friends' moms.
Moms make noises having sex.
Girls compete with their moms,
Kissing other women behind their boyfriends' backs.
Half sisters and half brothers are all over town.
'Old school' relations are over and gone.
Times have changed. Love is so out. I'm so out of love.
But you, you were giving me Nebraska last night.
I'm here. It's a fluke I'd be making up serious love songs
With every sweet thing going wrong
And every wrong thing going sound and sweet.
So cool to rhyme, so up with the beat.
You cannot be troubling enough
So posh with your gentle deceit.
Trying to write a smash hit, looking for something to eat.
There's so much to choose from,
But staying thin you should stick
To broccoli and lettuce and sugar-free mints.
But you were buying me Nebraska last night.
